One-on-One Buddies

Overview: The One-on-One Buddy Ministry serves special needs children and their families.  We partner a volunteer buddy with a special needs child/student to give them encouragement, support, and assistance in participating in KidCity, Middle School Ministry, High School Ministry and College.  The special needs ministry volunteers serve with patience and love, striving to help a child/student learn about Gods love in an environment where they are safe, accepted, and cherished.

Spiritual gifts: helps

Time commitment: 1-1.5 hours each week

Description: 
  • This role helps a special needs child attend a children's ministry class
  • Communicates with parents about child's needs and attendance
  • Prays with team (30 minutes prior to service)
  • Is able to help child participate in program
  • Takes child out of room if he/she is over stimulated or needs assistance
