Haven House
Haven House Services is a non-profit agency that helps struggling young people and their families with a wide range of interrelated programs to address challenges such as homelessness, gang activity, juvenile delinquency, substance abuse and much more. There are many volunteer opportunities available:Volunteering Opportunities:
- Assist with bi-lingual scheduling, intakes and documentation translation
- Bring lunch or baked goods on Saturdays for 30 youth doing Community Service
- Plan and/or assist with fundraising events
- Organize & maintain Clothing Closet
- Adopt a holiday or create a special night for youth
- Mentor youth one on one or “Adopt a Kid” by sponsoring expenses for necessities
- Assist young adults starting off in a new home (find, pick up & deliver furniture)
- Transport youth or families to programs
- Decorate and furnish bedrooms for youth in crisis shelter
- Assist Second Round Boxing program: coaching, tutoring and non-boxing alternatives
- Assist in office answering phones, filing and shredding
- Assist with Safe Place site checks
- Assist with Landscaping and gardening needs
- Assist with facility repairs
- Speak to community groups about Haven House Services
