Our history

Hope Community Church began on Easter Sunday in 1994 after Senior Pastor and Founder, Mike Lee, moved his family from California to Raleigh with three other families in order to plant a church. His vision has always been to make Hope a place where people can come and find out that regardless of what they’ve done there is hope that Christ can change their lives.

After moving to a number of locations, we purchased our first property in 1997 on Chapel Hill Road in Cary. After outgrowing that facility, we moved into Grace Christian School on Buck Jones Road in 2003 while building our Raleigh campus. We then moved into our new building in 2005. We partnered with Grace Christian School in 2007 to purchase the Crossroads building which houses our middle and high school ministries and other weekly meetings.

In September 2009, we launched our Holly Springs campus and in October 2011 we launched our West Cary campus. Each weekend we have about 7,500 people that come and worship across all three of our campuses.
