I.D. (Intentional Development) provides an excellent experience for accelerated spiritual growth in a group-based environment. Believing adults not only grow in their own faith but assist others in becoming fully devoted followers of Christ as well.

How does I.D. work?

  • Ideal groups are made up of 3-5 people. There is no leader or discipler, instead it is simply friends meeting and learning how to flesh out God’s truth together.
  • Groups meet weekly for 25 lessons---approximately 7 months or 25 weeks.
  • Participants organize their own groups. Although groups of 3-5 are ideal, LifeGroups can choose to go through the study together as well.
  • I.D. groups can start any time and meet wherever and on/at whatever days/dates/times they choose.
  • All group members sign a covenant of commitment both to the process and people in their group before they begin.

What study materials are used in I.D.?
The book Discipleship Essentials covers twenty-five sessions. However, participants are not necessarily expected to cover the assignments in twenty-five weeks. Relationships are primary. Just plowing through the lessons violates the spirit of this type of group. Since every group varies in length according to their learning style and the depth of personal matters being shared, it's important that participants keep at a pace comfortable for their group and not feel
obligated to cover every question. Each member will need their own book.
