This is a free service open to the Hope community, with preference given to regular attendees.
The program lasts eight consecutive weeks, with each weekly session covering new material and building on the previous session. Sessions begin with large group teaching, then families work with financial coaches in small groups to apply large group concepts to their specific financial situation.
Since space in the Financial Coaching Program is so limited, participating families are required to sign a covenant and commit to attending all eight sessions. If you aren’t able to commit to all eight weeks a great alternative is our monthly class, Financial Foundations.
The coaching occurs in two parts: a large group during the teaching portion of each session and a small group for discussion and application with no more than three participating families in each small group. There are two coaches assigned to each small group that guide you in applying concepts and provide accountability as you follow through on your plan of action.
All members of the Financial Coaching Team are required to sign confidentiality covenants. The only sharing of your personal information is among the coaching team when collaborating on a specific financial strategy for you.
Yes. Building relationships with your small group coaches is an important element of the Financial Coaching Program since you work with the same coaches for all eight weeks, as well as an additional four weeks of follow-up when the program ends.
Depending on how much debt you have and how much savings can be generated through your monthly cash flow plan, the length of time to completely shed your debt can vary. However, it is common that participating families become debt free in 18 to 36 months after beginning the coaching process.
We limit the number of families in each Financial Coaching Program to allow your coaches to focus on you and your success without distraction. If you are waitlisted and want immediate financial guidance a great alternative is our monthly class, Financial Foundations.
No. Our team is trained to teach you financial management and debt reduction strategies that have proven to be very effective. These strategies center around using biblical principles as you make each financial decision. If there is an emergency need for financial assistance, please visit the church office and fill out a benevolence application.
The first step toward your financial goals is good communication about money within your marriage. It’s not necessary that you have every decision made or plan in place – that’s what the coaching program will help you accomplish – but you should be able to speak with your spouse about money in a healthy, productive manner. Couples struggling to discuss finances in that way should consider marriage counseling, and then pursue financial coaching. With this foundation, established financial coaching will be considerably more effective in helping you reach your goals. For additional information about counseling options, please visit
